Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – Escape Nienburg

The most important questions about our escape rooms and VR experiences in Nienburg/Weser. Any other questions? Drop us an email or give us a call: 05021 864 10 40 (Mon to Sat, 11 am to 4 pm).

How do I book, and what does it cost?

Bookings are made online only, through this site: pick a room or an offer, choose a date and time (free slots are marked green), enter the number of people and confirm your booking. You pay on the day. The standard price scale for escape rooms and VR escape rooms is 89 € for 2 people, 108 € for 3 people, 120 € for 4 people, 135 € for 5 people, 156 € for 6 people. In the Detective Room, 7 people (182 €) and 8 people (208 €) are possible too. In Combo Mode (from 7 people) you pay 26 € per person. Escape The Worlds is an XXL format for 3 to 6 people and costs 216 to 312 € in total. The Ubisoft rooms Pyramid and Medusa have specific team sizes; please check the individual offer page.

Can I book by phone?

No, all bookings go through our website. You can phone us with questions Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm, often by callback.

Do I have to pay in advance?

No. Every booking works like a binding reservation: nothing is paid in advance, and you pay on the day, based on the people who actually turn up. You can pay with cash, debit card, PayPal, credit card, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay at the card reader.

How far ahead can I book online?

Regular online slots can be booked up to 72 hours before the start, or 96 hours for combos with three or four rooms. Within these periods, bookings go through a short-notice request, which we confirm if it works. Combo slots starting Monday to Friday before 5 pm are also requests if booked less than four weeks ahead. Book early and check whether the calendar shows a direct booking or a request.

How does a short-notice request work?

You pick a room and a time in the calendar (short-notice slots are marked orange) and that sends us a request. If it works for us, you'll get a confirmation email with your ticket. Once we confirm, the booking is binding: if you cancel afterwards or do not show up, it costs 75 € per room when there are less than 48 hours until your slot (for short-notice slots, almost always). Please only set off once you have our ticket, and check your spam folder. If we do not confirm, the request costs you nothing. We charge short-notice requests from 3 paying people.

When can I cancel?

Cancelling is free of charge up to 48 hours before your slot, by email, through the contact form or via the link in your booking confirmation (unfortunately not by phone). If you cancel less than 48 hours before, there's a charge of 75 € per room.

I got kicked out while booking and the slot has suddenly gone.

That isn't a technical fault. When someone starts a booking and abandons it, the slot is held for a short time as a safeguard, so nobody else can grab it at the same moment. Wait a few minutes and try again.

Which slots are still free? Is there an overview?

Yes. On the available slots page you can see all escape rooms and VR experiences in Nienburg at a glance: pick a day and the number of people, see free start times and book directly.

Is there an anniversary offer?

Yes, to celebrate our 10th anniversary there's 20 % off for 4 or more people on certain days until 31.12.2026, with a daily code when you book. All the codes and rules are on the anniversary offer page.

Where do we play?

The escape rooms (Nienburg Dungeon, Operation Pussycat, Dr. Seltsam) and Combo Mode are at Goetheplatz 2. The VR escape rooms and the VR adventure worlds are at Lange Straße 27. The venue is shown with every offer, and your confirmation names it too.

How long does a visit take?

Classic escape rooms and VR escape rooms take about 80 minutes in total (up to 60 minutes of playing time plus the briefing and a photo). Combo Mode takes about 90 minutes. Escape The Worlds is an XXL format of about 140 minutes in total.

When should I arrive?

Arrive on time for your start time, 5 minutes early at most. If you're up to 15 minutes late, we don't charge anything. If you're later than that, you can choose between the full playing time for 15 € per room for every 15 minutes started, or a correspondingly shorter game at no extra charge. Full playing time is only available if no following group is waiting and our team can stay longer. Otherwise, playing time is shortened at no extra charge. If you can see you'll be late, please let us know by email.

Are we locked in the escape room?

No. Doors in the direction of escape aren't locked here, so you can always get out using the door handle. A game host follows you by video and audio and can give you hints if you need them.

Is it scary?

No. The rooms are meant to thrill you and be fun, not to frighten you. We'll tell you beforehand about any special rooms.

Are there light effects or flashes?

There are no strobe or strongly flashing light effects in our Nienburg escape rooms. Some rooms have atmospheric lighting, and in VR experiences there are occasional fast movements and light effects.

What is the fun guarantee?

If, against all expectations, you're not enjoying an experience within the first 10 minutes, you can stop the session and leave without paying. No fun, no money! If you paid with a voucher, we credit the amount back to your voucher code or issue a new voucher (no cash payout).

Can we take photos in the room?

Not in the playing room, as smartphones are switched off there. At the end we take a success photo together.

Is there anything to drink?

Soft drinks are available before and after the game for 2 € each. In the playing room only water in bottles with secure lids is allowed.

Are the rooms air-conditioned?

Yes, all our escape rooms in Nienburg have air conditioning and fans. So even in summer you can concentrate comfortably for 60 minutes.

What happens if we can't solve the puzzles?

Don't worry! Our puzzles are challenging, but all of them can be solved and have been thoroughly tested. Of course we're happy to help with hints if you get stuck. If you don't make it in time, we'll gladly take a few minutes afterwards to explain the puzzles to you.

Is the game an IQ test?

No. Even though our rooms are demanding and not every team escapes, anyone can join in. What matters is having fun and experiencing the story and the atmosphere together. It takes the whole group, not a lone hero, which is why you play with at least two people. Our game hosts follow the game by camera and give you hints if you run into difficulties.

Do you have flyers?

Yes! You can pick them up from us, there's a flyer box on the outside of the fence.

From what age can you play?

The rooms are designed for mixed groups of all ages. Children under 10 play for free, but need one adult in the room per child, and at least 2 people over 10 must be in the group. Up to age 16 an adult supervisor must be present. The age guidelines for the rooms are recommendations for the average age of the group.

Do you have anything for children's birthday parties?

Yes, the Kids Special in the Detective Room for 5 to 10 children (at least 5 are charged, and one accompanying adult gets in free). In VR, Jungle Quest, Christmas and the VR adventure worlds are popular with children. You'll find more on the Kids Specials page. We also hold the “Kinderferienland Niedersachsen” certificate.

From what age is VR possible?

We recommend our VR escape rooms and VR experience worlds from age 10. With VR, body height matters more than age; the VR experience worlds often work from about 7 or 8. Between 10 and 16 an adult supervisor is required, and for VR they're free as long as they only watch. The Ubisoft rooms Pyramid and Medusa are only suitable from a height of 150 cm.

Are your locations accessible?

The VR location at Lange Straße 27 is fully step-free. In the VR experience worlds the wheelchair user pays the normal price and their companion plays for free. At Goetheplatz 2 there are 3 to 5 small steps to get over, so unfortunately that location isn't step-free. Once you're inside, the Detective Room and the Cat Room can also be played in a wheelchair, but unfortunately the Medieval Room can't. The toilets at Goetheplatz are conventional; at Lange Straße 27 there's an accessible toilet. For VR: only the Ubisoft rooms Pyramid and Medusa need both arms (both controllers), sufficient mobility and a height of at least 150 cm. The other VR games often work one-handed too; we'll quickly test it with you on site. If you have questions beforehand, just drop us an email and we'll work something out individually.

How many people fit in one room?

The Medieval Room and the Cat Room are for 2 to 6 people, the Detective Room (Dr. Seltsam) for 3 to 8. With 9 or 10 people it's possible in the Detective Room in exceptional cases, but then it gets cramped and the fun guarantee doesn't apply. For the VR escape rooms, 6 headsets are available.

What is Combo Mode?

For groups of 7 or more, several rooms play in parallel at the same start time (2-room combo 7 to 17, 3-room combo 15 to 24, 4-room combo 20 to 30 people, 26 € per person in each case; with exactly 20 people take the smaller 3-room combo unless you want four rooms). Below 7 people there's no Combo Mode. The meeting point is Goetheplatz 2, and a VR room in the combination is then played at Lange Straße 27. You'll find more under large groups. The highest combo participant numbers are exceptional capacities with less space per person. Regular limits for individual room bookings remain unchanged.

There are more than 30 of us. Is that possible?

Yes, in several rounds one after the other, each as a Combo Mode. The next round starts about 2 hours after the previous one. Have a look at the Large groups page or drop us a line.

We're a school class, a non-profit club or a social institution. Are there special conditions?

Yes. Besides team spirit, we also want to give something back: school classes, non-profit clubs and social institutions get 5 € off per person on showing suitable proof on site. One supervisor per room gets in free.

How long are vouchers valid, and where can I redeem them?

Value vouchers are valid until the end of the third year after the year of purchase and can be redeemed at all our locations, so in Leipzig and Hannover too. If the voucher value is higher than the booking price, the rest stays on the code. One value voucher can be applied per online booking, and any others you bring along on the day and we'll deduct them here. You'll find more on the vouchers page.

Where can you find us, and where can I park?

The escape rooms and Combo Mode: Goetheplatz 2, 31582 Nienburg. The VR escape rooms and VR adventure worlds: Lange Straße 27, 31582 Nienburg (pedestrian zone). Both houses are central: from Nienburg station it's about a 7–10 minute walk to Goetheplatz and 15–20 minutes to Lange Straße. There are several public car parks in the town centre.

When are you open?

Daily from 9 am to 9 pm. That's our opening time and not the limit for start times: online booking shows which slots are free. We're closed on 24.12., 25.12., 26.12. and 01.01.

How can I apply to work with you?
