Escape from an abandoned pyramid as a team, find magic in Wonderland or hunt for powerful artefacts in ancient Greece! The VR escape rooms by Ubisoft or ArviVR aren't video games in the usual sense. With our high-end VR systems you'll step straight into adventurous worlds, as if you were really there. Together as a team you're the heroes of a magical adventure that plays like a film, and in a safe setting you'll live through situations that would be too dangerous or simply impossible in the real world.

You play at our VR venue at Lange Straße 27, in the middle of the pedestrian zone and fully accessible. There are 6 linked, wired VR headsets, and depending on the room you play in teams of two to six. The Pyramid Room and the Medusa Room are only available with an even number of players (2 or 4), and Escape The Worlds from 3 people.

Where do we play the VR escape rooms?

At our VR venue at Lange Straße 27, 31582 Nienburg, in the pedestrian zone. The escape rooms (Escape from the Nienburg Dungeon, Operation Pussycat, The Mysterious Dr. Seltsam) are separate from here, at Goetheplatz 2.

What’s the difference between VR escape rooms and VR adventure worlds?

VR escape rooms are story-led puzzle adventures with 60 minutes of guaranteed playing time. In the VR adventure worlds you switch freely between lots of short games. Both take place in the same VR area, so they can’t be booked at the same time. For your first time, we recommend a VR escape room.

How does VR work here?

You play with wired VR headsets and controllers. Everyone has their own play area; our team explains the equipment and how you can move before you start. If you wear glasses, we recommend contact lenses. You need to be reasonably mobile for this.

From what age can you play VR?

We recommend our VR escape rooms and VR experience worlds from age 10. With VR, body height matters more than age; the VR experience worlds often work from about 7 or 8. From 10 to 16 an adult supervisor is required, who gets in free for VR as long as they only watch. The Ubisoft rooms (Pyramid and Medusa) are only suitable from a height of 150 cm.

How long does a VR escape room take?

About 80 minutes in total, with 60 minutes of guaranteed playing time, the briefing and a photo. Escape The Worlds is an XXL format with 90 to 120 minutes of playing time and about 140 minutes in total.

VR makes me feel sick. Is this for me?

Don't worry! All our VR experiences and VR escape rooms are chosen and built so that motion sickness doesn't happen. Motion sickness is usually caused by poor VR systems (hardware and software), and we put a lot of weight on quality, your health and your safety! Even if you feel sick or unwell on site for another reason, you can use our fun guarantee and stop within the first 10 minutes without paying.

I'm not a gamer. Is this still for me?

Yes, 100 %! VR isn't just for gaming, and these aren't classic computer games. VR escape rooms are intuitive experiences with something for everyone. If you can talk, listen, walk and grab things, you have everything you need to beat the rooms. The focus is on working together as a team.

Is it a team game? Can we see each other in the VR escape rooms?

Yes, you see and hear each other, and you can't do it alone anyway! You have to work together and everyone also has their own tasks to master. The key is to talk, listen and cooperate. At the end you can even high-five each other. ;-)

I'm afraid of heights. Is this for me?

You stand in your own play area. If you feel unwell, take off the headset and let our team know. The VR escape rooms, especially the Pyramid Room, are a challenge for people with a fear of heights. But that makes it all the more rewarding when you overcome it! If you're very anxious about heights, we recommend switching to our classic rooms.

Are the VR escape rooms any good?

The VR escape rooms by Ubisoft and ArviVR are considered some of the best in the world. Top quality matters a lot to us at Escape Nienburg, so we choose all our experiences very carefully and are happy to work with Ubisoft and ArviVR!

How many people can play together?

There are 6 VR stations. The Ubisoft VR escape rooms (Pyramid and Medusa) can only be played with an even number of people, so you play as a team of 2 or 4. If someone in a team of 4 drops out at short notice and you can't find a replacement, your game master can step in as the fourth person. The ArviVR escape rooms allow 2 to 6 people in the same game (Escape The Worlds from 3 people), which makes them ideal for bigger groups or odd numbers. In the VR adventure worlds, most games are for 2 to 4 people playing together, plus 3 versus 3 or everyone against everyone with up to 6 people.
